  4. Hi Big Lee Murali!

Firstly I'm very proud to see an Indian into bodybuilding and hats off to you. I'm 17 years old and I started lifting weights recently. I see results but pple are telling me that lifting weights will stunt my growth bcz I'm 17 yrs old and I'm quite short too at 1.57m. So from your experience cld u pls advice me on whether I shld continue lifting weights? Tks a lot.

  5. Hi Biju,

It is just a myth... height is dependent on genetics and it wont stop your growth....

injuries in spine can cause a stop in growth.. So train safely without hurting yoruself and you wont have any trouble at all

    cheers

  6. HI Lee,
ofcourse im a hardcore fan of ur's, i gym in TALWALKARS, well-known as a fitness centre rather than a gym, anyways, my question is , my gym doesnt hav a free squats barbell stand, so we need to do the squat in the smith machine, so i wud like u to put light on this matter, bout comparision bet these two(free squat n smith squat)........thnx a lot , wud wait for ur reply........

  7. Prajwal,

Smith machine squats - utlizes only your legs but free squats - uses your core as well as legs.

Smith machine squats is a very good exercise which would be 70-80 % as effective as free weight squats based on your form and workout

    cheers

  8. big lee bro,
So u say free squats is the best, ok then can i do it without the stands, since my brother told tat we shud not do free squats without having a stand behind us(to rest the barbel after sets), i mean can we transfer the barbel to helper after our set completion, my bro says tats nt safe n wud hamper our stained muscle(here thighs) ????
    Plz reply....

I use 180 kgs for squat and i dont know anyone who can get that weight and place it.. so i trust squat racks
