Hanging leg raises - Biglee workout clip

I hear a lot of bodybilders talking about training abs only in contest season and some train them daily and some train them thrice and twice and so on...
Here is my view,Your abs are also a muscle just like your delts, biceps and quads.. So i like to train them heavy and atleats once a week when i am training each body part once a week.
Hanging leg raises is by far the best abdominal exercise that i know. Gives you the best stretch and contraction of almost every muscle fiber in the mid section...
I would compare it with squats for legs... hanging leg raises for abs.
OFF season or CONTEST season, never neglect abdominal training guys...

How to get flat sotmach?

How do i get a flat stomach and get rid of belly?

In order to tone the muscle and reduce your mid-section do some basic 15 minute abdominal routine which included crunches and leg raises thrice a week.
20-30 minutes of cardio 4-5 days a week will help you to improve your metabolism, burn body-fat stored in all problem areas such as hips, mid-section etc and will help you to get that overall toned look. Training with weights few times a week will also help you reach your goal at a faster pace.
As i always say, diet is 80% of your physique goal, plan on a high protein, low fat diet.

How to reduce hip size

Q. I have been working out for about 2 years and have few problems and I hope that you can help me with that.

As you suggest in most of your articles I stick to basics and lift heavy. I have tries a lot of exercises to reduce the hip size but nothing works.

My trainer tells me that the problem is because of my heavy squats. But it is one of my favorite exercises and I love squatting.

What do you think?

A. There is no exercise that specifically targets the subcutaneous fat.

Exercises build muscle and it does not reduce it. If you cut down exercises, it will cause muscle tissue loss and make the muscle shrink.

To reduce your hips you must first cut down the exercises that place your hips under stress. So you might have to cut down squats and deadlifts that throw excess stress on your hips. Instead try squatting on smith machine rather than free weight squats. As smith machine eliminates the excess stress on your hips it will suit you better. Hack squats, Sissy squats are very good alternatives to Squats.

Also, reduce your carbohydrate consumption to get rid of fats to make your hips appear tapered.

PS: For this reason Mr.Olympia contestant Dexter Jackson does not squat free weights and uses hack squats and smith machine squats instead.
