Will alcohol affect muscle gain?

Q: Hi Lee, Will drinking alcohol affect my muscle gain?

Biglee: An occasional drink won't hurt much. But binge drinking or having a couple of beers a day is not good for gaining muscle and losing fat. Alcohol is very fattening and it completely screws up muscle growth. Most important of all it kills the free testosterone(male hormone) revolving in your body(testosterone is the main hormone behind muscle building). So try not to drink that often or large amounts

So its better to avoid drinking as much as possible.

  1. Hey, bro....
    How are you doing?
    Need a little info on the reps, dude...

    Some people strongly advocate fast reps during sets {both positive and negatives}, while some vouch for a slow positive and negative. Some even stand by a fast and explosive positive but a controlled negative.

    1. Which is the right thing to do?
    2. Or I feel all these 3 types are to be done to get different effects. Can you throw some light upon this, buddy?

  2. Rodeobiker,
    Fast negative means spring action which is ready to uncoil. This is called as speed workout which powerlifters practice to improve their lift and has not much to do with growth

    but slow negatives make sure that you incorporate maximum muscle fibers in it

    explosive positives , regular positives, slow positives and slow negatives are all good way for muscle building

    Cheers

  3. Hey, bro....
    Thanks a lot for the information....
    Need one more clarification, dude...

    I've been getting and consuming American Whey concentrates for quite some time now.... Initially, I used to take it once a day - post workout on workout days and on non-workout days, it'll be right after I brush my teeth in the morning...

    But, since I spend majority of time at office {Software stuff, same thing u endure}, will it be wise to carry a scoop to office and take it during some time - morning or evening....

    Or is it a must to take whey early in the morning only, since you've been reiterating that since these are expensive stuff, one need to consume it early morning as body would be waiting for nutrients...

    Please throw some light on this, buddy...
    A scoop of whey early in the morning or I can skip early morning scoops and stick to taking it in the office....

    What will be the difference in the protein utilization and effectiveness?

    Thanks a lot, dude.... :-}

  4. Hey bro,

    sorry for the late reply...

    You can switch to some whole protein as a first thing in your morning. And carry a scoop of whey to office.

    When u wake up - u definitely need protein -u can skip whey but not protein in morning.

    I take a total of 3 whey servings a day.

    Cheers

  5. Hey, thanks a lot, buddy.....
    I take skimmed milk {powder mixed with water}, 50gms soya or sprouts and 5 wheat breads as breakfast.

    So, hope this would suffice.

    Thanks a lot, again. :-}
