Why i am not responding to the same workout routine

Hi Lee,
I have been working out for the past three years and I maintain my workout log for more than two years. A routine which worked for me 8 months back is not working for me now.
I follow 1g of protein per pound of body weight and i followed the same then. What is wrong?

Regards,
bala

Biglee:

Hi Bala,

Maintaining a proper workout and diet log is a great. Hats off to you bro. I really appreciate the effort. The problem you described is a big problem which every bodybuilder maintaining logs would have faced. The solution to it is simple. I will explain it with a different example.
Do you follow boxing? But cant help it... I am gonna explain you with a boxing example...

There are two boxers(1 & 2) they get trained in the same boxing school and boxer 1 beats boxer 2 in a fight. But in two years due to hard work boxer 2 becomes a world champion and boxer 1 is still fighting in small clubs.

Now we fix up for a match between boxer 1 and boxer 2. Boxer 1 thinks that he will follow the same strategy which he followed few years back on boxer 2 and win the match. Do you think boxer 1 can win? Why?

Boxer 1 will actually lose the match because boxer 2 has adapted himself to be a better boxer and went beyond club fights and became a world champ. Similarly your body has responded to that routine some time back but now your body knows how to trick you if you give the same routine. So it is high time you go for a different routine now.

Remember our body has the best adaptation mechanism and it adapts very quickly. So my friend "Change is the only thing that never changes in life."

Cheers

All the best

  3. Hello Biggie,

I am 5 feet 8 inches tall and I weigh 150 lbs. I have been working out in the gym since last 6 weeks for 5 days/week. I have been doing 5 miles of treadmill at 6 miles/hour and i m working on my arms. I do all the exercises of the biceps and triceps. I want to loose 10 lbs and get down 140 lbs and at the same time want good biceps, as i have got good forearms but very thin arms. I have not changed my diet and i have been eating the same food in the same amount which I was eating before starting the gym. My work out time is 90 minutes to 120 minutes including both treadmill and weights. I dont know why my arms are not responding and why i am not loosing weight. My body is still the same before i started the gym. I dont know where i m going wrong. Can u please help me identifying where i am going wrong and at same time fixing the problem.
